Hi beautiful people!

At this point, I’ve tried eight Gymshark leggings and I’ve gotten a better feel of the brand’s fabrics and fits. So I created this roundup post to hopefully answer all your Gymshark legging questions.

If there’s something I’ve missed out, please email me or leave a comment. You can also check out the Gymshark subreddit for all things Gymshark. The members are super helpful and have a lot of insight.

Let’s get to it!

1. Gymshark Flex Legging Review

Details

  • Sizing: True To Size
  • Fabric: 56% Nylon, 39% Polyester, 5% Elastane
  • Coverage: 95% squatproof

Description: Gymshark Flex Legging

The Gymshark Flex legging is a full-length high rise legging designed for low to high impact workouts.

Fabric & Fit

The Flex legging fabric is super stretchy with a rough textured feel to it. These leggings have a subtle contouring shading that actually makes your booty pop! Although the Flex legging is thick, it’s flexible enough to move with you through your workouts.

Support

The Waistband is thick, ribbed, and extra compressive for support. Trust me when I say that this waistband is not rolling or slipping anywhere.

Coverage

It’s easy to pass these leggings off as 100% squatproof until you get under some real lighting. I stick a white tag and bright pink tag underneath my leggings and bend over in front of a bright fluorescent ring light (that’s really the only thing I use my ring light for ha!). That’s my squatproof test and boi is it revealing!

I found that all of the Gymshark leggings I tried were almost 100% squatproof, about 95%. I give them a 5% negative squatproof rating because with nice brightly colored panties and perfect fluorescent lighting (like at a gym), and the right booty angle, your underwear may be spotted.

You’ll need nude or dark-colored underwear for the Flex legging, however, the texture doesn’t matter since the thick and textured legging fabric will hide any VPL. So put your not so comfy seamless thongs aside and pull out your hiphuggers!

Gymshark Flex Sizing Review

For reference, I’m a 27″ waist, 32″ bust (DD cup), 38″ hip, 5’8″ tall, 31″ inseam, and US clothing size 4.

Flex Legging Sizing Tip:

“The Flex legging fits true to size, so I recommend going with the size chart. Also, the 26″ inseam stretches out to a full length fit on my 31” inseam frame. “

Sincerely Active

“The Gymshark Flex legging is a great go-to gym legging. Although it’s not the best legging for a summer workout because of the thick fabric.”

2. Gymshark Vital Seamless Legging Review

The Gymshark Vital Seamless legging is a high rise full-length legging with a high compression fit.

Details

  • Sizing: True to size
  • Fabric: 55% Nylon, 33% Polyester, 12% Elastane
  • Coverage: 90% squatproof
  • Features: DRY technology

Fabric & Fit

The Vital seamless legging is the dream: soft, stretchy, and flexible with a high compression fit. The Vital fabric compression is comparable to the Flex legging, although the fabric is not as thick. It’s also softer and stretchier than Flex and Ultra Seamless.

I’m raising a camel-toe alert for these leggings. I thought the seam-free front design would prevent that but I guess not.

Support

The waistband is ribbed, extra compressive,  about4″ wide, and sits right above my navel. These leggings will hold you in without squeezing the life out of you. Plus the waistband stays in place through everything- squatting, walking, sitting on the couch- you won’t have to tug on your leggings!

Coverage

The Vital seamless leggings are almost 100% squatproof. As long as you stick to dark or nude-colored underwear you’ll be safe. Also, since the fabric is on the thicker side, you won’t have to worry about panty lines and folds.

Gymshark Vital Seamless Sizing Review

Vital Seamless Legging Sizing Tip:

“The Vital Seamless leggings fit true to size, so I recommend going with the size chart. However, the fabric is stretchy enough to get away with sizing down.”

3. Gymshark Ultra Seamless Legging Review

The Gymshark Ultra Seamless legging is a full-length ultra-high waist legging with a high compression fit.

Details

  • Sizing: True to Size
  • Fabric: 54% Nylon, 38% Polyester, 8% Elastane
  • Coverage: 95% squatproof
  • Features: Shaping

Fabric & Fit

The fabric is thick, textured, and stretchy with a high compression fit. The Ultra Seamless legging texture and compression feel very similar to the Flex legging, which makes sense since they have almost the same fabric composition.

Support

The Ultra seamless legging is the Spanx of Gymshark leggings: it has a super high rise waistband; a sculpting/shaping yet comfortable fit, and gives you a figure that’s to die for! The tag came off pretty quick when I tried on these leggings.

Also, I was very surprised to find that the waistband does not roll, which is very unusual for super high rise leggings. It feels really secure

Coverage

Like most of the other Gymshark leggings, the Ultra seamless legging is not 100% squatproof, but it’s pretty close. You’ll need dark-colored underwear but the thick legging fabric will hide panty lines and folds.

 Gymshark Ultra Seamless Sizing Review

Ultra Seamless Legging Sizing Tip:

“The Ultra seamless legging fits true to size so I recommend going with the size chart. It’s stretchy enough (more than Flex) to size down if you want an intense compressive fit, but I think it fits perfectly as is.”

Sincerely Active

What is my Gymshark legging size?

4. Gymshark Speed Legging Review

The Gymshark Speed Legging is a high rise full-length pocket legging designed with soft fabric for comfort.

Details

  • Sizing: Runs small
  • Fabric: 80% Nylon, 20% Elastane
  • Coverage: 95%
  • Features: Pockets

Fabric & Fit

The Gymshark Speed legging fabric is soft and stretchy- probably the softest Gymshark legging I’ve ever tried. These leggings run small and the waistband is really snug, so you may find yourself struggling to get them on!

After I finally got into the Speed legging and saw my brand new butt- thanks to the heart-shaped waistband and booty contouring seams- I pulled off the tag. Then I proceeded to take a nap in them and woke up with my leggings almost completely greyed out from lint!

This fabric will attract a lot of lint, so if you have a pet, BEWARE! I still love the leggings though.

Support

The Speed leggings have a widish 3.5″ waistband which sits right at my belly button. The waistband is secure, fits snug around my waist with no gaps, and doesn’t roll.

The pockets are surprisingly deep and can fit an iPhone plus without pulling the leggings down.

Coverage

Like the others, the Speed leggings are almost completely squatproof, but you’ll need dark-colored or nude seamless underwear since the thin fabric clings to your body and will show panty lines and folds.

Gymshark Speed Legging Sizing Review

Speed Legging Sizing Tip:

“The Gymshark Speed leggings run small so if you prefer a relaxed fit, I recommend sizing up. On the other hand, if you prefer a tight/comrpessive fit, stick to your true size. I definitely don’t recommend sizing down!”

Sincerely Active

“The Gymshark Speed legging is a good basic black legging to have in your closet. Perfect for rest days and leg days!”

5. Gymshark Sculpt Legging Review

The Gymshark Sculpt Legging is a high waist full-length legging with a medium compression fit.

Details

  • Sizing: Runs small
  • Fabric: 80% Nylon, 20% Elastane
  • Coverage: 95%
  • Features: Pockets

Fabric & Fit

The fabric is super soft and stretchy with a medium compression fit.

The leggings stretch to a full length fit on me; it falls a little above my ankles. Just a reminder that I have a 31″ inseam measurement.

I thought the Speed waistband was tight until I tried the Sculpt legging. The top seam digs into my waist and the front dips below my navel.

The Sculpt leggings are baby scrunch leggings; they have a subtle ruching in the backside designed to accentuate your booty. Unfortunately, the ruching doesn’t really give that butt-lift effect. I guess it’s better to go full-on scrunch than just a little bit!

Support

The Sculpt legging has two side pockets that can fit a larger iPhone.

The waistband is extra firm, but the narrow waistband means you only get low midsection support. Plus the waistband slides down a bit so the coverage is even less.

Coverage

The Sculpt leggings are almost completely squatproof, but you’ll need dark-colored or nude seamless underwear since the thin fabric clings to your body and will show panty lines and folds.

Sculpt Legging Sizing Tip:

“The Gymshark Sculpt leggings run small so if you prefer a relaxed fit, I recommend sizing up. On the other hand, if you prefer a tight/compressive fit, stick to your true size. I definitely don’t recommend sizing down!”

Sincerely Active

“Like the Speed legging, the Gymshark Sculpt legging is a good go-to basic black legging for working out and casual wear. But you should know that it has the least comfortable waistband fit of all the leggings I tried.”

6. Gymahark Lustre Legging Review

The Gymshark Lustre legging is a high rise full-length legging with a medium compression fit.

Details

  • Sizing: Runs small
  • Fabric: 87% Polyester, 13% Elastane
  • Coverage: 95%

Fabric & Fit

The Lustre legging fabric is soft and stretchy with a medium compression fit. Also, the leggings stretch to a full length fit on me.

The narrow V-front style waistband falls at my navel and fits snug.

I love the subtle embossed tiger design and the slight sheen to the fabric. They kind of look like shinny pretty stretch marks. I did notice that the embossed part is more flexible than the plain parts of the legging; so you’ll notice more stretch from the waist to mid-thigh than the lower leg area.

Support

The Lustre legging fabric has a medium compression feel but the legging waistband is cut to be extra tight (like most Gymshark leggings). It’ll be a struggle to get into but you’ll like the secure and snug fit once they’re on.

Coverage

If you’re looking for midsection coverage, the Lustre legging may not be the best option. Like the Sculpt legging, the Lustre legging has a smaller waistband (2.5″) and will barely get to your navel depending on your torso length.

Like the other Gymshark leggings, the Lustre leggings are almost completely squatproof. You’ll need dark-colored or nude underwear but the fabric will hide panty lines and folds.

Gymshark Lustre Sizing Review

“Lustre Legging Sizing Tip:

The Gymshark Lustre leggings run small so if you prefer a relaxed fit, I recommend sizing up. On the other hand, if you prefer a tight/compressive fit, stick to your true size. Like the Speed and Sculpt leggings, I don’t recommend sizing down!”

Sincerely Active

“The Lustre legging is the least comfortable and least flattering of all the Gymshark leggings I tried. But the fabric is the most unique.”

How To Care For Your Gymshark Leggings

Most Gymshark leggings fabrics are pretty sturdy so they don’t need much TLC. But if you follow these basic guidelines, your leggings should last you a few years!

Avoid excess heat from washing in hot water, tumble-drying, or ironing as this can affect the strength of the fibers and degrade the fabric features.

Instead, wash your leggings in cold water, and use a drying rack. If you plan to use a dryer, set to the lowest heat for 10-20 minutes depending on how much you have in the dryer. Also, avoid using fabric softener since it can seal the fabric, causing the fabric to become less breathable.

Place your leggings in a mesh bag before throwing them in the washer. This will ensure that the fabric doesn’t get snagged by parts from other clothing.

Air out your workout clothes after each workout session to prevent bacteria from ruining your activewear fabric. You don’t need to wash your leggings after each wear, but don’t dump your damp leggings in the laundry basket.

Follow these steps to keep your Gymshark activewear in pristine condition!
